The Importance of Home Care

I was once given the perfect analogy for having a skin homecare routine in place, and I'm going to share it with you!

Let's imagine you want to lose weight, so you sign up for an expensive personal training session several times a month. You have not only spent money, but you have invested your personal time. You are sure that this is going to give you the results you have been wanting for so long.

But then you go home, and continue to eat all the normal things you have always ate. You snack, you go to happy hour with the girls, you have your favorite dessert several times a week.

Time for weigh-in comes, and your personal trainer informs you that yes, you have got a little stronger, but you haven't lost any fat. You are shocked to hear this!

What happened here?

You were relying on one positive change to do all the heavy lifting, but failed to your own home work.

This is like going to see your esthetician and getting great treatments, but then going home and continuing to use hand soap to wash your face and sleeping in your makeup Friday and Saturday nights, and doing all the other skin no-no's.

Treatments with your esthetician are just a contributing part of what you need to do. When you leave your appointment, it's up to you to maintain the benefits.

You can talk to your esthetician about where to start on building a skincare routine if you feel lost.

They may even have retail products that they recommend and you can purchase directly from them.

Even if you can't afford the particular line of skincare they offer, there's a great chance they would love to share their knowledge with you if you just ask.

A combination of treatments with your esthetician and a homecare skincare routine is your best bet at beautiful and healthy skin!
